Review and Comment on the News 11/28/05
11.28.05 (8:49 am)   [edit]
Enema of the State: Democrat and Anti-war activist Ramsey Clark comes to Saddam's defense. Shocker: Bookish little snot merchant Harold Reid (D) Nevada, Dick Durbin (D) Ill., Hank Dean (D) Europa and Co. work their magic:

Washington Post Poll:

Democrats fumed last week at Vice President Cheney's suggestion that criticism of the administration's war policies was itself becoming a hindrance to the war effort. But a new poll indicates most Americans are sympathetic to Cheney's point.

Seventy percent of people surveyed said that criticism of the war by Democratic senators hurts troop morale -- with 44 percent saying morale is hurt "a lot," according to a poll taken by RT Strategies. Even self-identified Democrats agree: 55 percent believe criticism hurts morale, while 21 percent say it helps morale.

Their poll also indicates many Americans are skeptical of Democratic complaints about the war. Just three of 10 adults accept that Democrats are leveling criticism because they believe this will help U.S. efforts in Iraq. A majority believes the motive is really to "gain a partisan political advantage."

Just when you lose faith in the ability of the American people to see through bullshit...Britain's top climate scientist adopts Gore's contention that Global Warming is worse than terrorism. Yes, global warming caused the foot of snow outside my house and should be considered a terrorist act. Bucking the system: Bruce Willis plans to make an Iraq War movie that casts our men and women in a positive light. Boy is he in deep shit, his name will be stricken from the Screen Actors Guild cocktail party list post haste, he will be boycotted and suffer much the same ridicule that Mel Gibson received for his Passion of the Christ movie last year.

Quote of the Day, Bruce Willis:

"I was over there," Willis recently told MSNBC's Rita Cosby. "I am baffled to understand why the things that I saw happening in Iraq, really good things happening in Iraq, are not being reported on."

Willis has been to Iraq himself and said he intends to return shortly. "What I saw over there is not reflected in the news whatsoever," he told MSNBC.

"You know, the coalition forces there are getting the power turned back on. They`re getting the schools opened up. They`re getting hospitals opened back up."

The Hollywood conservative said U.S. forces have done a tremendous job in beginning to establish a modern society for the Iraqi people - "not to mention winning the war."

Willis, who has personally offered $1 million for information leading to the capture or killing of Osama Bin Laden, Ayman Al-Zawahiri or Abu Musab al- Zarqawi, said the Iraq war was really no different from World War II.

"This is the same fight the US fought 60 years ago,” he declared.

My prediction: This movie will not even be made, and if it does it will receive no backing from any studio and as a result theatre chains will not show it and at best it will go directly to DVD. Bruce will be a pariah at next year's Ocsars, Robbins, Saradon, Clooney and other "Overseers" will see to that and boycott him. How dare he!! He may be a pariah already I don't know as I never watch that self-congratulatory puke fest anyway. This on the other hand will probably be backed to the hilt by the powers that be. Just watch.

A picture is worth a thousand words:

Cindy, your 15 minutes of fame were used up long ago: No one attends "Droopy the Peace Queen Hive Mother's" book signing.

Harsh?: CNN switchboard operator was fired for suggesting "X" over Cheney was free speech. I must admit I've not paid a whole lot of attention to Pat Buchanon, I've never liked the guy, most of what I've heard and read from him has rapidly dropped off my radar screen, as I recall, he's been bitching about the Iraq War since it's inception, (though he has cheered the successes of the Iraqi elections.) His endless puling about "American Imperialism" has contributed to the timbre of the debate today and has led us to this pass. I'm not implying he should shut up or that he's unpatriotic, he should just be careful what he wishes for, he may have gotten it.
