Scores of Iraqis, mostly Sunni Arabs, have been killed and dozens of Sunni mosques attacked in the aftermath of Wednesday's bombing of the Askariya mosque in Samarra - one of the holiest sites of Shi'ite Islam. As sectarian violence flared, authorities placed security forces on high alert and extended curfew hours in Baghdad and several other cities.
