Stupid is as stupid does/ Liberals and High Fuel Prices.
04.29.06 (8:14 am)   [edit]
The more Al Gore speaks the more I'm relieved that this Ted Dansonesque blithering idiot never became president."Loggers flew planes into those buildings!!" I' ll leave the Global Warming debate alone for the time being (anyone who wants my opinion on that may scroll through previous posts or visit junkscience.com or British writer James Hogan's website) to make my point that were this monumental piece of work President on 9/11, we would be fighting the "War on Climate Change"complete with color coded threat warnings relative to auto emissions, logging and a host of other horrors. Yellow=Elevated, meaning somewhere a tree is dying. Green= High Alert, meaning somewhere out on the High Seas (very high now thanks to Global Warming) a dolphin has turned up in a tuna net. Red=Extreme, meaning someone, somewhere is stepping into an SUV and turning the key (and it's probably Gore himself).

April 28, 2006 - Al Gore has launched his new campaign—this one to battle the effects of global warming. At its center is a new film, “An Inconvenient Truth,” which stars Gore and has been winning surprisingly positive press.

"Surprisingly"? Gimme a fucking break. Aside from maybe Governor Brian (D) Montana, this is the single most fawned over man in politics....Gore typifies the leadership of the Democratic Party these days who believe the 3 biggest threats to America are Global Warming, Wal Mart and Tax Cuts.

Liberals and High Fuel Prices: A point I've been trying to make for sometime is buttressed
here.

"If $75 a barrel oil and a $3 average for a gallon of gasoline isn't a wake-up call, then what is?"--Senator Charles Schumer (D., N.Y.), April 23, 2006

Yes, that's a fine question Senator Schumer asks. But a wake-up call for what, exactly? A wake-up call to produce more domestic oil? Heaven forbid.

In fact, Mr. Schumer and most of his Democratic colleagues in the Senate--the very crowd shouting the loudest about "obscene" gas prices--have voted uniformly for nearly 20 years against allowing most domestic oil production. They have vetoed opening even a tiny portion of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska to oil and gas production. If there is as much oil as the U.S. Geological Survey estimates, this would increase America's proven domestic oil reserves by about 50%.

They have also voted against producing oil from the Outer Continental Shelf, where there are more supplies by some estimates than in Saudi Arabia. Environmental objections seem baseless given that even the high winds and waves of Hurricane Katrina didn't cause oil spills in the Gulf of Mexico. In the 1970s the environmentalists and their followers in Congress even protested building the Alaska pipeline, which today supplies nearly one million barrels of oil a day. If they've discovered some new law of economics in which a fall in output with rising demand can cause a reduction in price, we'd love to hear it.

I believe it is just a game to these guys. If Bush is for it, they're against it, and vice-versa. They are just a bunch of rich and powerful men who become bored with life, and so get together to play human chess with you and me. And, we are foolish enough to be duped by them and pay them to treat us in such a way.

Sorry- just a bit jaded about politics these days.

I certainly understand. No need to apologize.
