You're joking right?
04.23.07 (8:02 am)   [edit]
The Global Warming Debate has just hit a new comedic high with this gem:

Singer Sheryl Crow has said a ban on using too much toilet paper should be introduced to help the environment. Crow has suggested using "only one square per restroom visit, except, of course, on those pesky occasions where two to three could be required".

Crow: "I propose a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting."

What sort of policing mechanism are you going to put in place to enforce this limitation? Cameras in the toilet bowl? The Whipple Brigade?

Another brilliant idea: The dining sleeve:

Crow has also commented on her website about how she thinks paper napkins "represent the height of wastefulness". She has designed a clothing line with what she calls a "dining sleeve". The sleeve is detachable and can be replaced with another "dining sleeve" after the diner has used it to wipe his or her mouth.

Why not a cloth sleeve for toilet paper as well? That way both ends are covered. The potential for hilarious mix ups and possible lawsuits from said mixups could prove most amusing...

Sheryl Crow

Now I think I know what is meant by the phrase: "Shut up and Sing."

If indeed she practices what she preaches, then I would not want to shake her hand either. Surely, surely, she said this in jest? Even an estremist entertainment elitist (eee)like Crowe has more common/practical/social sense than this.

I see that Karl Rove has decided to take revenge after the incident at the White House correspondence dinner.

I don't believe that the males in this audience are thinking this through as carfully as they might. You should consider that people urinate more often than the other option. Also, women ussually wipe after urination. It makes sense that she is suggesting only using one square after urination. How many squares do the males around here use after urination? If you are using less than one, then maybe you should reconsider what you are saying about Miss Crow.

I am surprised that LadyG didn't catch this one....
