Karl Rove's future plans include playing God:

WASHINGTON (AP) - Around the world, a handful of scientists are trying to create life from scratch and they're getting closer. Experts expect an announcement within three to 10 years from someone in the now little-known field of "wet artificial life." "It's going to be a big deal and everybody's going to know about it," said Mark Bedau, chief operating officer of ProtoLife of Venice, Italy, one of those in the race. "We're talking about a technology that could change our world in pretty fundamental ways—in fact, in ways that are impossible to predict." That first cell of synthetic life—made from the basic chemicals in DNA—may not seem like much to non-scientists. For one thing, you'll have to look in a microscope to see it. "Creating protocells has the potential to shed new light on our place in the universe," Bedau said. "This will remove one of the few fundamental mysteries about creation in the universe and our role."

..and waterboarding puppies.

Protest duly noted:

Full nudal frontity on shrinking
glacier:

Nearly 600 volunteers stripped before the camera on a melting Swiss glacier high in the Alps on Saturday as part of a publicity campaign to expose the impact of climate changeThe eco-conscious volunteers turned up under blue skies near the foot of the Aletsch glacier, a protected UNESCO World Heritage site.

Don't these morons understand that their collective body heat is only going to contribute to the glacier's further shrinkage? Yeah, next thing ya' know they'll want us to stop flying.

Oprah wants to invade Pakistan:

In America, it is known simply as the "O" Factor. As the reigning talk-show queen, trusted arbiter of taste and general adviser on everyday life, Oprah Winfrey has persuaded millions of devoted viewers to buy everything from bras to books. Now the world's richest black person is aiming to transfer her Midas touch to the world of politics, as she tries to market Barack Obama as the first black American president.

I half jokingly (well, maybe more than half) think this woman had a hand in the demise of my marriage ( read the advice column sometime) so be careful Barry.

More BBC bias??:

After a long struggle, the BBC removed a statement referring to Jesus as a "bastard," meanwhile many claim that it will remove anti-Muslim comments almost immediately.

Hurricane Dean hammers Jamaica, I should check Huffington Post to get little Bobby's thoughts:

KINGSTON (Reuters) - A strengthening Hurricane Dean took aim at Mexico's Yucatan on Monday after battering Jamaica's southern coast, flooding its capital and littering streets with broken trees and roofs during a Caribbean rampage that has killed at least nine people.

A car drives in the rain, as Hurricane Dean passes close to Jamaica, in Kingston August 19, 2007. Jamaica declared a curfew and troops patrolled the streets on Sunday as fiercely powerful Hurricane Dean bore down on the island after killing five people earlier on its run through the Caribbean. (Carlos Barria/Reuters)
Jamaicans exscape Chimpstein's wrath

Then again, Chimpstein's Wrath might sum up Little Bobby's thoughts quite nicely. Rats!! after a quick perusal of Huff Post I saw no opprotunistic bleatings from Little Bobby, only the usual stuff, GITMO is a torture chamber, Rove is a Nazi, he's secretly in love with Hillary etc. etc.

Hey, if a woman can be convinced by Oprah to leave her husband, then I'd say she is a bit shallow and the man has not lost much of significance. Just my biased opinion, of course. Oprah- I'd rather watch Jerry Springer, he's a bit more believable.

Now, what the BBC says about Jesus is crude and vulgar and offensive. But, hey, it's Christians.

I used to think Jerry Springer was funny until I found out about my wife's affair, then not so much. I imagine someday it will be funny again with the passag of time...

Just remember two things: The leading cause of divorce is marriage, and women, can't live with em, can't shoot em.

Indeed my good man. At least I didn't learn of it through Jerry Springer.
